Basketball Game Preview: Agoura Chargers vs. Chaminade Eagles

Agoura is 1-6 against Chaminade since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Agoura Chargers will host the Chaminade Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Agoura knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Chaminade likes a good challenge.

Last Wednesday, Agoura earned a 76-65 victory over Royal. That 11 point margin sets a new team best for the Chargers this season.

Meanwhile, Chaminade entered their matchup against El Camino Real on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Chaminade fell to El Camino Real 56-51. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Royals are ranked 354th).

Agoura will have to contain Jonas Thurman as he made an impact in Chaminade's last game. He dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten boards. Thurman's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kahlil Cantwell, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points.

Chaminade's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-2. As for Agoura, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5.
