Football Recap: Lumberton Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Lumberton's offense. They fell 7-0 to the Wesson Cobras on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Cobras: they've now lost four in a row.

Lumberton's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Wesson, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lumberton will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Perry Central at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Wesson, they will face off against Lawrence County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cobras will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 44 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
