Softball Recap: Mechanicville Wins Going Away Against Cambridge

Mechanicville had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Cambridge N/A on Monday as they made off with a 10-1 win. With that victory, the Red Raiders brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Paige Rogers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Addison Pane, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley LaPierre, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Mechanicville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The win got Mechanicville back to even at 5-5. As for Cambridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Mechanicville will head out to face off against Greenwich at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Witches' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Red Raiders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
