Basketball Recap: Minneola Takes a Loss

Minneola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Kiowa County Mavericks, falling 51-20. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mavericks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-35 back in January.

Minneola got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Maiya Granados and Rhianne Swonger, who each put up five points. Granados also led the team in rebounds with eight.

Minneola's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Kiowa County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10.

Minneola wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-21 defeat against LaCrosse on the 21st. Kiowa County has also already played their next match (against Pawnee Heights), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
