Basketball Recap: Hackensack Takes a Loss

Hackensack was the 74-66 winner over Northern Highlands when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Comets took a 65-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highlanders on Thursday. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Northern Highlands' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jeffrey Weinberger led the charge by putting up 17 points and eight rebounds. Weinberger is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 58% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Dipasupil, who went 6-for-11 on his way to 17 points.

Hackensack's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Northern Highlands, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Hackensack didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-48 loss against Union on the 21st. As for Northern Highlands, they have also already played their next matchup, a 57-54 win against Colonia on the 21st.
