The Cougars put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 13-6 victory on Tuesday. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by six runs or more this season.

Will O'Rourke looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
At the plate, Matt McKnight was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Cooper Gornet was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
Charlotte Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .651. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Mecklenburg only posted an OBP of .417.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Cougars on Tuesday. Carmel Christian took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of High Point Christian Academy. The loss continues a trend for Carmel Christian in their meetings with High Point Christian Academy: they've now lost three in a row.
Leyton Guhl made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Carmel Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 2-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Tarr, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Charlotte Catholic's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2. As for Carmel Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Charlotte Catholic has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .503. However, it's not like Carmel Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .440. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
