Basketball Recap: Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cristo Rey Research Triangle on Wednesday, Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill came back down to earth. The Lion were beaten by the Asheville School (Independent) Blues 77-39 on Saturday. If the Lion were looking for revenge after losing 74-37 to the Blues when the teams met back in December of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Caleb Worsham made all 5 shots he took for 11 points. Another player making a difference was Josh Worsham, who posted seven points.

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill will venture away from home to take on Carolina Friends at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Asheville School (Independent), they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-49 win against Greenville H on the 11th.
