Softball Recap: Cibola Takes a Loss

Cibola fell victim to Hobbs and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 16-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Cougars' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Cibola saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Benavidez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Cibola's defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Hobbs, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Cibola has already played their next game, a 7-5 victory against Atrisco Heritage Academy on the 28th. As for Hobbs, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-2 win against Kirtland Central on the 28th.
