Softball Recap: Bartlett Wins High-Profile Game Against Homer

Bartlett faced Homer in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Golden Bears came out on top against the Mariners by a score of 9-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Golden Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

Kaitlyn Lair was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Tina Tunai was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Bartlett always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bartlett has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Homer, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.
