On Saturday, Columbus faced Germantown in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Columbus Falcons took a hard 72-54 fall against the Germantown Mavericks. The Falcons' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Columbus' loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-3. As for Germantown, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Columbus will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Ridgeland at 7:30 p.m. on December 30th. One thing working in Ridgeland's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests. As for Germantown, they will be taking part in a tournament against Hall on Friday. Germantown knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Hall likes a good challenge.
