Soccer Recap: Sterling Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Sterling and Princeton had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Golden Warriors came up short against the Tigers on Thursday, falling 5-0. Sterling were not able to make up for their loss to Princeton from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Sterling dropped their record down to 2-16 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Princeton, they moved to 7-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, Sterling will host Rock Island at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Princeton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ottawa at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Princeton will be up against Ottawa's rather soft defense (which has allowed three goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
