Basketball Recap: Barnsdall Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Barnsdall challenged South Coffeyville on Thursday. The Barnsdall Panthers were dealt a 65-38 defeat at the hands of the South Coffeyville Lions. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Lions are ranked 163rd).

Barnsdall has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for South Coffeyville, their win bumped their record up to 15-1.

Barnsdall didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 27-23 victory against Bluejacket on the 31st. As for South Coffeyville, they will venture away from home to take on Foyil at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th.
