Basketball Game Preview: Grand Valley Mustangs vs. Mathews Mustangs

Grand Valley and Mathews are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The Grand Valley Mustangs will welcome the Mathews Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Grand Valley's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Mathews has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Last Saturday, Grand Valley came up short against Cornerstone Christian and fell 61-54.

Meanwhile, Mathews had to suffer through a 53-14 loss at the hands of Maplewood. The game marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Grand Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Mathews, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.

Everything came up roses for Grand Valley against Mathews when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 59-20 victory. Does Grand Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mathews turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
