Volleyball Recap: Payson Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Payson suffered their biggest defeat since October 1st on Monday. They lost 3-0 to the Gilbert Christian Knights. The Longhorns haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

While Payson ultimately came up short, they really made Gilbert Christian work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-14, 27-25, 25-17.

Maddie Johns paced Payson's offense, picking up ten kills. Johns got some help from Madi Plain and her 16 assists.

Shay Loth was nothing short of spectacular for Gilbert Christian: she had 16 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Loth has posted since October 2nd.

Payson's loss dropped their record down to 27-8. As for Gilbert Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 26-7.

Payson has already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Blue Ridge on the 29th. As for Gilbert Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against ALA - Ironwood on the 29th.
