Basketball Recap: Whitmer Comes Up Short

Whitmer lost against Ross back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Whitmer Panthers took a 55-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ross Little Giants. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Whitmer lost, don't look at Madison Finch. Despite the final result, she went 8 for 19 on her way to 23 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Adalyn Johnson, who posted six points.

Whitmer now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Ross, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

When Whitmer and Ross next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Whitmer will try to stop Highland's nine-game winning streak when the meet at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Ross will try to stop Bowling Green's three-game winning streak when the meet at 4:15 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
