Lakes had won eight straight games dating back to last season and Ean Owens did his part to make it nine on Friday. The Lakes Lancers breezed by the Capital Cougars to the tune of 38-7 thanks in part to Owens, who picked up 82 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown. He got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 54 yards.

Another player making a difference was Willie Nash, who threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing yards (four).

Lakes was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 268 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Lakes didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Jalen Boone led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself.

Lakes pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Capital, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
