Volleyball Game Preview: La Porte Slicers vs. Merrillville Pirates

The La Porte Slicers will head out on the road to take on the Merrillville Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

La Porte lost 3-0 to South Bend Riley on Wednesday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Merrillville came up short against Valparaiso on Monday, falling 3-0. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Valparaiso scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-20, 25-18.

Merrillville's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for La Porte, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.
