Soccer Game Preview: Winlock vs. Ilwaco

The Winlock Cardinals will venture away from home to face off against the Ilwaco Fishermen at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Winlock's last five matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Monday just wasn't the day for Winlock's offense. They fell just short of Onalaska by a score of 1-0 on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for Winlock in their meetings with Onalaska: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Ilwaco has been on a difficult stretch since their win on the 3rd. They lost 5-1 to Raymond/South Bend on Monday.

Winlock's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Ilwaco, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-1.

Winlock took their victory against Ilwaco when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
