Cabell Midland waltzed into their match on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Huntington Highlanders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 back in September.

While Cabell Midland won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-21.

Katie Lawson paced Cabell Midland's offense, picking up 11 kills. Lawson got some help from Jillian Yost and her 29 assists.

Cabell Midland's win bumped their record up to 29-4-1. As for Huntington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-15-2.

Coming up, Cabell Midland will challenge South Charleston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Huntington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Boyd County at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
