Volleyball Recap: Wheaton North Comes Up Short

Wheaton North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Batavia Bulldogs. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Wheaton North was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Batavia work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-17, 29-27.

Mary Kate Whittington paced Wheaton North's offense, picking up seven kills. Whittington got some help from Sophia Ohashi and her 11 assists.

Wheaton North's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Batavia, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-15.

Wheaton North wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Leyden on the 8th. As for Batavia, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against St. Francis on the 8th.
