Softball Game Preview: San Juan Spartans vs. Woodland Christian Cardinals

The San Juan Spartans are taking a road trip to challenge the Woodland Christian Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. San Juan has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with eight straight losses, while Woodland Christian will come in with nine straight victories.

Last Thursday, San Juan didn't have quite enough to beat Vacaville Christian and fell 8-7.

Meanwhile, Woodland Christian made easy work of Lindhurst on Tuesday and carried off a 14-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won ten games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Chayse Anderson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Teagan Hayes was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Morgan Sanders was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Woodland Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lindhurst only posted an OBP of .269.

Woodland Christian pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for San Juan, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
