Recap: Eldorado Sundevils vs. Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars
The Eldorado Sundevils had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against Pinecrest Academy Cadence by a score of 40-33. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Eldorado got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaeshawn West out in front who rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. West is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Xavier Delgado was in the mix too, providing Eldorado with three touchdowns.
Despite the defeat, Pinecrest Academy Cadence saw an underclassman step up: Kellon Trubey threw for 257 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.9 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Eldorado's victory bumped their record up to 4-4. As for Pinecrest Academy Cadence, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Eldorado will face off against Pinecrest Academy Cadence at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Pinecrest Academy Cadence is ranked 59th, while Eldorado is ranked 53rd). Pinecrest Academy Cadence is on the road again and play against Eldorado at 6:00 p.m. on October 26th.
