Softball Recap: Lake Travis Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Lake Travis had won four straight on the road, but on Thursday they bumped their record up to 18-9-1 to make it five. They came out on top against the Austin Maroons by a score of 6-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-0 back in March.

Lake Travis' victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Gerlach, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Regan Moore was another, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

As for Austin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured seven defeats in a row.

On Austin's side, Jazmine Benevides spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Oivia Maldonado was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season.

As of now, neither Lake Travis nor Austin have any future games scheduled.
