After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lincoln, the Mission Bears were happy to have found some success on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 74-72 win over Balboa. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Balboa lost, one person who can't be blamed is Je'Mon Brown. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points along with five assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brown has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Davonte Lindsey, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Mission's victory bumped their record up to 3-16. As for Balboa, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.
