Soccer Game Preview: Saluda vs. Ninety Six

Saluda hasn't had much luck against Ninety Six recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tigers will head out to square off against the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Saluda's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Pelion 8-0. The result was nothing new for Saluda, who have now won five matchups by four goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Ninety Six faced off against Batesburg-Leesville on Tuesday. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Panthers 1-0. Give Ninety Six's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Eleri Cole, who's now up to six this season.

Ninety Six's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Saluda, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 9-3.

Saluda came out on top in a nail-biter against Ninety Six in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
