Baseball Game Preview: Appomattox County Raiders vs. Chatham Cavaliers

The Appomattox County Raiders will challenge the Chatham Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Appomattox County's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Chatham has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road.

Appomattox County came out on top against William Campbell on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fifth inning. The Raiders blew past the Generals 13-3. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Generals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Isaac Records looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

At the plate, Ashton Stratton was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Caid Burch, who earned three runs and two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Chatham lost 11-1 to Dan River on Monday.

Chatham's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Appomattox County, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
