Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mitchell). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 40-7 victory over the Owen Warhorses. The Mountaineers pushed the score to 34-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warhorses cut but never quite recovered from.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Mitchell's defense and their 5.5 sacks. In that department, Isaiah Turner was the leader with two. Mitchell is undefeated when Turner posts one or more sacks, but 1-3 otherwise.

Mitchell now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Owen, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mitchell is set to face off against their familiar foe Mountain Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th. Meanwhile, Owen will take on rival Hendersonville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
