Basketball Recap: Turner Comes Up Short

Turner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Lone Star Rangers and fell 79-51. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 89-41 on January 3rd.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sahil Anand, who went 7 for 11 en route to 20 points and five rebounds. Those 20 points gave Anand a new career-high. Leo Portillo was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Turner now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Lone Star, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Turner has already played their next game (against Reedy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lone Star will take on Wakeland at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
