Soccer Recap: Leominster Takes a Loss

After flying high against Ludlow on Saturday, Leominster came back down to earth. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Westborough Rangers by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Leominster came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts soccer rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Westborough are ranked 152nd).

Leominster's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 1-1-3 and their overall record down to 7-3-4. As for Westborough, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Leominster will face off against rival Shrewsbury at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Westborough is set to square off against their familiar foe Wachusett Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
