Basketball Game Preview: Manual Arts Toilers vs. Diego Rivera Huskies

Manual Arts is a perfect 10-0 against Diego Rivera since December of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Toilers will be home for the holidays to greet the Huskies at 4:00 p.m. Manual Arts has given up an average of 54.9 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Manual Arts is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against West Adams on Wednesday. The Toilers took a 58-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers.

Despite the defeat, Manual Arts saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Corlin Coleman-Boyles went 8-for-15 en route to 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Coleman-Boyles has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Makarius Westbrook, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Diego Rivera sidestepped Santee for a 53-50 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

Manual Arts has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Diego Rivera, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
