Skowhegan is 8-1 against Brewer since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The River Hawks will be defending their home field for the first time this season  when they go up against the Witches  at 3:30  p.m. Skowhegan will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
On Wednesday, Skowhegan beat Mt. Ararat 9-6.
Meanwhile,  after only two  runs in their last  match, Brewer made sure to put some  runs up on the board against Ellsworth  on Tuesday. The Witches were the clear victors by  a  10-4 margin over the Eagles. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Witches' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
 Sara Young made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  tossed four innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   four  hits. Young was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double.
 In other batting news, Brewer let  Sarah Snowdeal and  Jill Ford run wild. Snowdeal  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI, while  Ford  went 1-for-3 with one  home run and three  RBI.  Olivia Bragdon was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and one  RBI.
 Skowhegan's victory was  their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 3-0. The  road  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Brewer, their  victory (their first of the  season) made their record 1-2.
 Skowhegan took their  win against Brewer  when the teams last played  back in April of 2024 by a conclusive  14-4 score. Will the River Hawks repeat their success,  or do  the Witches have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
