Softball Recap: Felicity-Franklin Comes Up Short

Felicity-Franklin had lost five straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 1-12 to make it six. They lost 7-0 to the Clermont Northeastern Rockets. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Cardinals' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Felicity-Franklin saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Esther Quatkemeyer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

As for Clermont Northeastern, they moved to 7-10 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. Considering they have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Clermont Northeastern's side, Bella Wilson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Wilson a new career-high. Allie Adkins was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Coming up, Felicity-Franklin is taking a road trip to challenge Middletown Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clermont Northeastern, they will take on Cincinnati Country Day in a tournament on Wednesday. The Rockets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Nighthawks have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season.
