Football Recap: Oak Ridge Comes Up Short

Oak Ridge has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 13.9 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They were outmatched by the Cypress Creek Bears and fell 45-6. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 348th, while the Bears are ranked 161st).

Oak Ridge's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Cypress Creek, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Coming up, Oak Ridge will head out to take on Jones at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Fightin' Tigers' defense has only allowed 14.2 points per game this season, so the Pioneers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Cypress Creek, they will head out on the road to challenge Harmony at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Bears 4.2, the Longhorns 13.9) so any points scored will be well earned.
