Calumet has gone 8-1 against L'Anse recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Copper Kings will challenge the Purple Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Calumet's defense has only allowed 8.6 points per game this season, so L'Anse's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Calumet is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Gladstone: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Copper Kings blew the Braves out of the water with a 46-3 final score. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 26-3.

Ben Anderson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 186 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry.

Anderson was just one part of a punishing run game: Calumet was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 354 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August.

L'Anse played against Gwinn on Friday and won via forfeit.

Calumet's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 1.0 point on average over those games. As for L'Anse, their record is now 5-3.

Everything came up roses for Calumet against L'Anse in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 51-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Copper Kings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
