Basketball Game Preview: Hamilton Southeastern Royals vs. Zionsville Eagles

Hamilton Southeastern and Zionsville are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2015, but not for long. The Hamilton Southeastern Royals will venture away from home to challenge the Zionsville Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Saturday, Hamilton Southeastern came up short against Anderson and fell 65-56. The Royals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zionsville's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Noblesville on Saturday. Zionsville secured a 52-46 W over Parke Heritage.

Hamilton Southeastern better keep an eye on Drew Snively. He was instrumental in Zionsville's win, almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Snively a new career-high in rebounds. Maguire Mitchell was another key player, going 6 for 12 on his way to 14 points and four steals.

Zionsville has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points per game. As for Hamilton Southeastern, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7.

Hamilton Southeastern was able to grind out a solid victory over Zionsville in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 42-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hamilton Southeastern since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
