Volleyball Recap: Somerset Prep Homestead Comes Up Short

Somerset Prep Homestead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Redland Christian Academy FALCONS. The Pythons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the FALCONS earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Somerset Prep Homestead actually scored more points across those five sets (99-93), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 7-25, 25-14, 25-23, 21-25, 15-12.

Despite the defeat, Somerset Prep Homestead saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Allison Vasquez had nine aces.

Somerset Prep Homestead's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Redland Christian Academy, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4.

Somerset Prep Homestead didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Somerset Academy South Homestead on the 19th. After both having extra time off, Redland Christian Academy and Greater Miami Academy will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
