Softball Recap: Tenino Wins Going Away Against Castle Rock

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Napavine, Tenino was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Castle Rock Rockets 22-12. That looming 22-12 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Beavers yet this season.

Kylie Gonia was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Preslee Fisher was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Tenino kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.2 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 11.4.

Tenino's win bumped their record up to 3-16. As for Castle Rock, their defeat was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-21.

As of now, neither Tenino nor the Rockets have any future games scheduled.
