Football Recap: Harding Piles Up the Points Against Grand Valley

Harding put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past the Grand Valley Mustangs to the tune of 42-6. With that win, the Skippers brought their scoring average up to 26.7 points per game.

Harding's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brady Lawson, who threw for 221 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. The dominant performance also gave Lawson a new career-high in passer rating (159.7). Harding's leading receiver Yomar Castellano was Lawson's top target yet again, picking up 137 receiving yards and one TD, while also punching in one touchdown on the ground.

Harding didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Shane Greenwood and Castellano. With that strong performance, Castellano is now averaging an impressive 103.2 receiving yards per game.

Harding's record now sits at 6-0. As for Grand Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harding will host Catholic Central at 7:00 p.m. on the 11th. As for Grand Valley, they will welcome Cardinal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will be up against the Huskies' rather soft defense (which has allowed 49.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
