Basketball Recap: Sydney English Key Part of Team Effort in Fighting Irish Win

Knoxville Catholic's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Hutchison Sting by a score of 51-41. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 45-33 back in November of 2024.

Knoxville Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sydney English, who posted 15 points and five boards. Those 15 points gave English a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Amaya Redd, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Knoxville Catholic's record now sits at 19-15. As for Hutchison, they moved to 19-7 with that loss, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Coming up, Knoxville Catholic will square off against Christ Presbyterian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Hutchison does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
