Evangel Christian barely beat Coosa Valley Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Evangel Christian Lightning blew past the Coosa Valley Academy Rebels 14-2 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Lightning, who have now won three matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Raylee Evans and Lilli Whitfield did most of the damage at the plate: Evans scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3, while Whitfield scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Evans has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bailey Bullock, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Evangel Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Coosa Valley Academy only managed eight hits.

The victory made it two in a row for Evangel Christian and bumps their season record up to 6-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.5 runs. As for Coosa Valley Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Evangel Christian has already played their next game, an 8-0 loss against Bessemer Academy on the 1st. As for Coosa Valley Academy, they will square off against Lowndes Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Coosa Valley Academy has given up an average of 11.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
