Soccer Recap: Napa Triumphs

Napa was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Justin-Siena Braves. Given the Grizzlies' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while the Braves are ranked 1006th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Napa's win bumped their record up to 7-4-3. As for Justin-Siena, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-9-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Napa will face off against American Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Napa's last five games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Justin-Siena, they will challenge Hercules at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Justin-Siena is facing Hercules at the right time seeing as Hercules is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
