Basketball Recap: Frontier Victorious

If Beallsville wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Frontier, they should've done a better job of containing Avery Powell. The Frontier Cougars claimed a resounding 73-23 victory over the Beallsville Blue Devils thanks in part to Powell, who went 13 of 22 on his way to 29 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2023.

The team also got some help courtesy of True King, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 12 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last four times he's played.

Frontier's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Beallsville, they dropped their record down to 0-10 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Frontier Cougars duke it out with the Waterford Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Beallsville, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Conotton Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 21st.
