Softball Recap: Ava Drops Season-High Score on Steelville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ava). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Steelville Cardinals an 18-0 shutout on Saturday. Considering the Bears have won ten matches by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the third in a row for Ava, bringing their record up to 13-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Steelville, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Steelville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 19-4 defeat against Potosi on the 26th. Hopefully Ava paid attention to the Cardinals' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Cardinals on Saturday.
