Baseball Recap: Viera Hawks vs. St. Cloud Bulldogs
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Viera had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They never let the St. Cloud Bulldogs onto the board and left with a 4-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Viera.
Viera got a great performance from Dylan Jordan as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Evan Lipski was incredible, going 2-for-3 with a home run, a stolen base, and two RBI.
On St. Cloud's side, Brian Wright was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits.
Viera has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. As for St. Cloud, their loss dropped their record down to 15-11.
