Hueytown waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Springville Tigers. For the Golden Gophers, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Hueytown's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Springville, their loss dropped their record down to 13-3.

Coincidentally, Hueytown and Springville will both be playing Brookwood the next time they take the field. Springville will head out to face Brookwood at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Hueytown will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
