Baseball Game Preview: Amity Regional Spartans vs. Trumbull Eagles

The Amity Regional Spartans are taking a road trip to challenge the Trumbull Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Amity Regional is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 13 games dating back to last season.

While Amity Regional's victory against Notre Dame wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Green Knights 5-3.

Meanwhile, Trumbull's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Notre Dame Prep with a sharp 10-0 victory. Fans of the Eagles have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Amity Regional's record is now 3-0. As for Trumbull, their record now sits at an identical 3-0.

Amity Regional couldn't quite finish off Trumbull in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
