Soccer Game Preview: Grayson County vs. Fort Chiswell

Grayson County hasn't had much luck against Fort Chiswell recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Blue Devils will take on the Pioneers at 5:30 p.m.

Grayson County is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game last Monday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Giles.

Meanwhile, Fort Chiswell waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Cavaliers get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. Fort Chiswell's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three games.

Fort Chiswell pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four matches. As for Grayson County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Grayson County suffered a grim 6-1 defeat to Fort Chiswell in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
