Basketball Recap: Water Canyon Comes Up Short

Water Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Millard Eagles, falling 74-44. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Water Canyon lost, don't look at Dynonte Blackmore. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten rebounds. Blackmore is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Greg Hammon, who went 6-for-13 en route to 14 points and six rebounds.

Water Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Millard, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Water Canyon will head out to challenge Piute at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be the Wildcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Millard, they are taking a road trip to face off against American Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
