Baseball Recap: Union Academy Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Union Academy challenged Mount Pleasant on Friday. The Cardinals fell 6-2 to the Tigers. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Union Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Pawl, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Union Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Mount Pleasant, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union Academy will venture away from home to take on South Stanly at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mount Pleasant, they will head out to face off against North Stanly at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Comets will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
