Baseball Recap: Tyrone Find Success

Tyrone won against Mount Union on Monday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles walked away with an 8-4 win over the Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won three in a row.

Lincoln Shirey was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. B Parson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Tyrone was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bellwood-Antis only posted a batting average of .300.

Tyrone's record now sits at 9-4. As for Bellwood-Antis, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tyrone will head out to face off against Chestnut Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bellwood-Antis, they will venture away from home to take on Central Cambria at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Devils will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight.
